The importance of a green cover.
Thursday, December 17th, 2009Global warming has an unfortunate action where by the profiles of many soils start to degrade rapidly. Soil organisms, especially bacteria proliferate in the warmth, multiplying and utilising the stored humus within the soil.
Results of this are being found through out the soils of the Earth. Studies are showing rapid degradation. Especially in soils that are cultivated and recieve little humus forming compounds.
There is one solution that we can all do to help. Grow more green over our soils. Keep the soil cooler with a green covering of plants.
Having said that, today had a lighter feel, slightly warmer and fresher after the last few days of dull conditions.
More bones of the hedge.
